☕ Relief Served. Reclaim Pending. | Daily Dose

Yesterday brought the rate-relief appetizer. Today we find out if the table actually has an appetite.

The soft payroll print is still the backdrop: +29,000 jobs, 4.2% unemployment, and +0.1% wage growth. But this morning's menu is less about the data and more about the digestion. US10Y is still parked above 5%, BTC is barely holding the reclaimed $85K line, and ETH is still trying to make $2,700 look less like a maybe. Better setup, same rule: no chase until the plate stops wobbling.

TODAY'S MENU

BTC: $85,028 (+0.52%) — $85K is back, but the hold is one sneeze away from needing repairs.

ETH: $2,697 (+0.62%) — Pressing $2,700 without acceptance; close, but not paid.

Fear & Greed: 65 (Greed) ← 67 — Cooler — Appetite eased, but nobody has left the restaurant.

US10Y: 5.28% — Pressure gauge — Rate relief helped; the 10-year still keeps the heat lamp on.

TODAY’S SPONSOR: The Daily Upside

Bad news is good business. We never bought in.

Every morning, financial news follows the same script. Headlines panic, coverage catastrophises, and somewhere inside the noise is the story that actually matters — the one that tells you where the opportunity sits, not just where the fear is pointing.

Most sources have stopped looking. The alarm is easier to sell.

The Daily Upside was created by Wall Street insiders for readers who crave real insight over recycled anxiety. Five minutes of global business and finance, before the noise sets the agenda — just the facts, context, and analysis your decisions need.

Join 1M readers — including managing directors and principals at some of Wall Street’s largest institutions — who trust The Daily Upside to filter through the chaos.

The upsides are always there. We’ll find them before breakfast.

MARKET MAP

BTC 4H — Tentative Trend Reclaim

BTC chart

BTC reclaimed $85K after a sweep, but the latest read is only barely above the new support line.

BTC’s map improved, but the improvement is narrow. The reclaim pushed the active battle line up to $85K, which is constructive, but price is still hugging that line instead of launching away from it. That means buyers have earned a better setup, not a breakout trophy. Hold here and $87K becomes the next real test. Slip back under, and the market goes right back to checking whether $84,500 can catch the plate.

Daily Tape: +0.32% (O: $84,754 | H: $85,072 | L: $84,720 | C: $85,028)

  • Support: $85,000 — Tested ⚡ — swept and reclaimed, but the latest read is only about $28 above it.

  • Base: $84,500 — Holding — protected on the active session; first repair check if $85K fails.

  • Resistance: $87,000 — Not Tested — next real upside test after $85K proves it can hold.

  • Psych Level: $88,000 — Not Tested — upper confirmation stays off the menu until $87K gets paid.

  • Bias: Neutral

ETH 4H — Range Compression

ETH chart

ETH is leaning into $2,700, but acceptance has not shown up with the check yet.

ETH is participating, but not leading. The tape is constructive, the active low stayed above support, and the map is unchanged. Range compression remains on the menu.

Daily Tape: +0.36% (O: $2,687 | H: $2,698 | L: $2,687 | C: $2,697)

  • Support: $2,650 — Holding — active-session low stayed comfortably above it.

  • Base: $2,600 — Holding — lower defense if the support plate cracks.

  • Resistance: $2,700 — Tested ⚡ — price pressed the line but did not reclaim it.

  • Psych Level: $2,750 — Not Tested — only matters after $2,700 flips from ceiling to floor.

  • Bias: Neutral

CHEF'S CHOICE

The best story is the tension. Jobs were soft enough to make rates less hostile, and that matters because crypto has spent weeks eating every Treasury-yield headline like it came with a side of indigestion. But US10Y is still sitting above 5%, so the macro backdrop is friendlier, not free.

The chart's answer is better, but still conditional. BTC reclaimed $85K, which is a real improvement from last night's failed acceptance test, but the hold is thin. ETH is doing the awkward half-step at $2,700 where the music is playing, but nobody wants to be first on the dance floor.

That is why this is tentative trend reclaim inside range compression, not a fresh impulse. The kitchen is open, the ingredients are better, and the first plate looks edible. Now buyers need to finish the meal instead of just smelling it.

COOKING LESSON

A reclaim is not the same thing as acceptance.

The useful read comes from what happens after price gets back above the line: does the level become support, or was it just a quick taste test before another trip to the lower menu?

QUICK BITES

  • REGULATORY — Stablecoin custody gets another EU test | The ESMA stablecoin proposal asks the European Commission to restrict licensable services around non-compliant stablecoins, including custody and transfers. That is rails pressure, not an enacted ban.

  • LEGAL — Crypto's trust-bank lane gets challenged | ICBA's OCC lawsuit targets national trust bank charters for crypto firms. The court still has to do court things, which means plenty of paperwork and zero instant certainty.

  • LABOR — Crypto hiring woke up while applicants thinned | Crypto job postings jumped from 382 in July to 1,241 in September while applications fell below 20,000. Builders are ordering more seats; job seekers are apparently still staring at the menu.

MACRO KITCHEN

US10Y is today's outside ingredient. Softer payrolls helped the rate-relief story, but a 5.28% 10-year still keeps the kitchen warmer than bulls would like.

DXY near 101.924 helps by staying below the macro pressure line, while Brent above $100 keeps inflation sensitivity in the background. The clean read: macro is less hostile, but not harmless. Crypto still needs the BTC/ETH acceptance test to do the actual work.

US10Y 1D — Rate Pressure Gauge

US10Y chart

US10Y remains above 5%, keeping the rate-relief setup conditional rather than wide open.

THE RECIPE

WHAT'S COOKING

Base case is neutral repair with a better macro backdrop and unfinished confirmation. BTC improved first; ETH still has to join above $2,700 before the setup stops looking like a cautious taste test.

KEY INGREDIENT

The key ingredient is acceptance: BTC needs $85K to behave like support, and ETH needs $2,700 to flip cleanly.

Bias: Neutral — improvement is real, confirmation is incomplete.

Probability: Bull 29% / Base 54% / Trap 17%

PREPARATION

  • Market Conviction: Conditional repair; better tape, still no breakout feast.

  • Upside Path: BTC holds $85K and works toward $87K; ETH reclaims $2,700.

  • Invalidation: BTC loses $85K, then $84,500; ETH loses $2,650.

  • Next Catalyst: US10Y remains the pressure gauge while price proves the reclaim.
