Macro’s Cooking. PCE Is On The Menu.
The macro kitchen is serving heat before breakfast even starts.
With hot oil and the 10Y back near levels last seen in 2007, this is not exactly a cozy setup for risk assets. Crypto’s job today is simple: survive PCE, watch the reaction, and see if there’s till appetite for BTC after the first bite.
TODAY'S MENU
BTC: $83,001 (-0.82%) — Neutral — Holding $83,000 by a thread after the lower reclaim failed.
ETH: $2,660 (-0.69%) — Neutral — $2,650 survived, but $2,700 is back on the top shelf.
Fear & Greed: 71 (Greed) — Warm appetite — Still greedy, which is cute when support is this close to the floor.
Macro Heat: US10Y 5.26% — High-yield pressure — PCE/income is the morning check, not a victory lap.

MARKET MAP
BTC — 4H Failed Reclaim Pressure
BTC is pressing the $83,000 shelf after the $83,500-$84,000 repair window rejected.
BTC's map changed at the top: yesterday's resistance was $84,000 and the upper shelf was $85,000; after the failed repair, $83,500 is first resistance and $84,000 is the immediate psych shelf.
Daily Tape: -0.82% (O: $83,690 | H: $83,721 | L: $82,963 | C: $83,001)
Support: $83,000 — Tested ⚡ — wicked under by about $37, then crawled back above by roughly a dollar.
Base: $82,000 — Holding — lower base stayed protected.
Resistance: $83,500 — Tested ⚡ — price cleared it intraday, then gave it back like a diner seeing the bill.
Psych Level: $84,000 — Not Tested — the round-number acceptance shelf is still overhead.
Bias: Neutral — support is alive, repair is not.
ETH — 4H Support Hold, Reclaim Missing
ETH is holding the $2,650 floor while $2,700 remains the line that proves real repair.
ETH's short version: $2,650 held, but the $2,700 reclaim never got served.
Daily Tape: -0.69% (O: $2,679 | H: $2,680 | L: $2,658 | C: $2,660)
Support: $2,650 — Holding — active-session low stayed about $8 above the floor.
Base: $2,600 — Holding — still protected unless support finally cracks.
Resistance: $2,700 — Not Tested — the reclaim shelf stayed out of reach.
Psych Level: $2,750 — Not Tested — upper shelf remains untouched.
Bias: Neutral — intact floor, weak posture.
CHEF'S CHOICE
Today's story is not "macro made BTC do a thing." The cleaner read is BTC walking into a macro calendar moment while the chart is already acting picky. PCE/income is on the board, yields are at multi-decade highs, and $83,000 has very little room for sloppy eating.
The behavior is the failed-reclaim pause. Yesterday's repair attempt did not extend; BTC went from flirting with $84,000 acceptance to defending the lower shelf by a thread. ETH tells the same story with fewer fireworks: support survived, reclaim failed.
That matters because weak repair days can trick traders into over-seasoning the setup. The market did not deliver a clean breakdown, so panic is not the base case. But it also did not deliver acceptance above the reclaim band, so victory-lap bulls need to put the confetti back in the drawer.
That keeps the read Neutral, but defensive. Bulls need the pass reclaimed. Bears need the floor to actually break. Until one side does the work, this is a thin-appetite market: still fed, still standing, but one bad macro bite away from testing whether the lower shelf actually has buyers underneath it.
COOKING LESSON
A support hold is not a clean repair.
When price defends the floor but fails the reclaim window, let the market prove appetite above reclaim before chasing the plate.
QUICK BITES
MARKET STRUCTURE — Coinbase Clearing DCO registration | Coinbase Clearing is now on the CFTC registry as a derivatives clearing organization. Bigger kitchens need regulated plumbing.
SECURITY — Bitget security vulnerability update | Bitget tied its $388M exploit to a third-party security vulnerability. Counterparty risk stays on the menu.
MACRO — BLS October release schedule | Payrolls land Oct. 2 at 8:30 AM ET. Today has PCE/income; Friday gets the labor-market bill.
MACRO KITCHEN
US10Y 1D — The 2007 Throwback Nobody Ordered
US10Y is the macro focus: the latest Treasury read has the 10-year at 5.26%, keeping the hurdle high while BTC and ETH sit close to support. The market ordered a macro breakfast and then started reading the fine print.
THE RECIPE
WHAT'S COOKING
Neutral, but defensive. BTC is above $83,000, ETH is above $2,650, and every failed reclaim matters.
KEY INGREDIENT
BTC needs $83,500 first, then $84,000 acceptance. Lose $83,000 instead, and the kitchen starts pricing the $82,000 shelf.
Bias: Neutral — lower shelves are intact, but momentum is soft.
Probability: Bull 18% / Base 54% / Trap 28%
PREPARATION
Market Conviction: Defensive neutral — support lives, appetite is thin.
Upside Path: Reclaim $83,500, then accept above $84,000.
Invalidation: Lose $83,000, and $82,000 becomes the next plate down.
Next Catalyst: BEA PCE/income at 8:30 AM ET; payrolls Friday.
